The 1939 film “Gone With The Wind” is known for being one of the most classic movies of all time. Given the fact that the film was made nearly eighty years ago, many fans would be surprised to know that one of the main cast members is still alive and well today!

Olivia de Havilland is now a healthy 102 year-old, 79 years after she was nominated for an Academy Award for her portrayal of Melanie Wilkes in “Gone With The Wind.” The two-time Oscar winner is now the last surviving cast member of this amazing film!

Olivia spent decades having a successful career in Hollywood before she retired in the 1980s. Since then, she has been living quietly in Paris, France. She has resurfaced at times in the past few years, including when she was given the title of “Dame Commander” during the birthday of Queen Elizabeth II. This honor was given to Olivia just before her 101st birthday, and she is still the oldest person to ever get this award.

“Gone With The Wind” made Olivia a star, but she continued to appear in many renowned movies throughout the rest of her career. She won the Academy Award for best actress in 1947 for “To Each His Own,” and then again in 1950 for “The Heiress.”

These days, Olivia is still as beautiful as ever, and she is enjoying life out of the spotlight. She recently told a reporter that she is proud of all that she has accomplished in her life.
