Dogs are known as man’s best friend and they earn the name for a good reason. Some are so amazing that they will even give their lives to save their humans. This was the case of one Nigerian dog.

It seemed like any other beautiful wedding in the Buba Ahmed of Belbelo Village until the Boko Haram Islamist militant group made plans to terrorize the celebration.

A teenage suicide bomber busted in on the wedding and was on the outskirts of the gathering when a dog jumped up and attacked her before she could move toward the crowd.

The suicide bomber then detonated her vest blowing up at the back of the ceremony instead of where all the people were in attendance at the wedding.

“She was forced to detonate her explosive while battling to wriggle herself from the claws and jaws of the dog,” said a police spokesman. “The dog stopped the teenage suicide bomber from detonating her strapped improvised explosive device on the wedding crowd of people.”

Although the dog gave his life in the process and the suicide bomber died, the lives of many people have been saved thanks to his heroic actions.

No one knows exactly why the dog attacked the way he did, but experts say that dogs have an innate nature to detect danger. “If your dog shows an unusual dislike towards someone, he is making you aware about the potential threat that person can present to you.”
