Alhanna Butler lives in Doncaster, South Yorkshire with her fiancé Ricky, her son Lincoln, and dog, Keola. Were it not for Keola, however, Alhanna and Lincoln might not be alive today.
When Alhanna was pregnant with Lincoln, she started feeling a sharp pain in her lower back. Though she immediately went to the hospital, doctors dismissed her right away and told her it was just a normal side effect of being pregnant.

Alhanna returned home and went back to her normal routine, but Keola knew immediately that something was very wrong with her. The dog started behaving very strangely, staring at Alhanna non-stop and making a big fuss when she went to work. Keola was usually very well behaved, so both Alhanna and Ricky were confused by this.

When Keola refused to stop crying and nudging Alhanna one day, she went back to the hospital. It was only then that doctors realized that she was near death!
It turns out that Alhanna had an extremely rare double kidney infection as well as an antibiotic-resistant bug that was slowly killing her. Doctors said that had she not returned to the hospital when she did, both Alhanna and her unborn son would have died.
She now credits Keola with saving both her and Lincoln’s lives!

Since Lincoln was born, he has immediately bonded with Keola, who is clearly very happy that he’s around!

This just goes to show how powerful dogs can really be! SHARE this story so your friends and family can see this as well!
