Ever since Meghan Markle married Prince Harry, her father Thomas Markle has become a major thorn in the British royal family’s side, as he has given humiliating interview after humiliating interview about them. Now, a source close to Meghan is speaking out to say that there’s “no chance” of a reconciliation between Meghan and her father.

The source said that Meghan was “amazed” by her father’s latest interview in which he said that his daughter would be better off “if I was dead.” He also said that Princess Diana, Harry’s late mother, would have “loathed” the way the royals are treating him.

“I don’t care if Harry never speaks to me again, I’ll survive,” Thomas said, adding that he would be “heartbroken” if Meghan doesn’t speak to him again.

A close friend of Meghan said that a reconciliation is very unlikely, as there have been problems between her and her father for years.

“A reconciliation is completely off the table at the moment. There’s no chance right now – he’s been a complete embarrassment,” the friend said. “They’ve had problems for some time – from before she met Prince Harry. She’s amazed by what’s happened but is taking what he says with a grain of salt.”

“The Royal Family isn’t as upset as you’d think either. Nothing any of them [the Markle family] say has any real consequence and they [Meghan and Harry] have more important things to focus on,” the source continued.

While it’s always sad to see a father and daughter become estranged, we can see why Meghan wants to avoid her father at the moment. If he really wants to reconcile with her, perhaps Thomas should stop giving interviews to the press about her private life!
