We’ve all had those moments when we feel the sudden urge to do something kind. Whether it’s opening the door for someone or holding the elevator for them, doing small acts of kindness can give the person doing them a warm and fuzzy feeling inside.

Singer-songwriter Andy Grammer was recently having breakfast at the Sea Ketch restaurant in Hampton Beach when he noticed a group of women at a nearby table.

When Andy saw the five “SUPER CUTE” elderly women, he immediately felt a flood of sadness, as he longed for his own mother. This sadness was compounded by the fact that Andy is now a parent himself.

“I felt a strong urge to pick up their check. I don’t know them and didn’t want to bother them but I just did it,” Andy said.

Not wanting to draw attention to himself, Andy secretly paid their bill, but then he felt another urge.

“…a lot of times it’s better to just do nice deeds without asking for acknowledgment but something felt like I should tell them I missed my mom, like they might like to hear that,” Andy said. “So I walked over and said ‘You are five of the sweetest ladies I’ve ever seen. I lost my mom a while back and something about seeing you made me miss her this morning so I’m getting your check.’”

Without hesitating, one of the women got up and gave Andy a hug.

“COME HERE. I lost my son and really needed this,” the woman said. Andy responded by giving her the “son hug” that she so badly needed.

“We are all so connected. #imnotcryingyourecrying #cryingwithstrangers,” Andy concluded.

One of the women later took to Facebook to write to Andy, “Your Mom sent you to us today.”

This just goes to show how powerful a small act of kindness can be! SHARE this story so your friends and family can see this as well!
