Summer temperatures can be stifling and combating the sweltering heat can be a full-time job if your home does not have air-conditioning. Of course, many resort to portable fans to help keep the air cool and circulating. However, there are some negatives to using a fan at night.
Many people resort to this remedy to try to cool off and get some rest at night, but this habit can have a negative impact on your health.
According to sleep experts, a fan circulates air around the room, which may feel good on a hot night, but it can also move dust particles and other allergens around the air too.

This can cause irritation for those with allergies. Having a constant blast of air on your body can also result in dry skin. Lotions and other moisturizers can help combat that, but if you struggle with exceptionally dry skin, your fan could be to blame.
As if those reasons aren’t enough, experts also say that sleeping with a fan on at night can cause sore muscles. The cool air can make muscles tense up and cramp, so if you’ve been waking up with a stiff neck in the morning, this could be the reason why.

While fans can be an inexpensive way to block outside noises and cool off, there are other ways that could have the same effects according to experts. If you insist on using a fan, they recommend having one that rotates rather than blowing on you in one spot all night long.
Be sure to share it with your family and friends because we can all use an eye opener from time to time.
