Prince Harry recently visited Lesotho and his HIV charity released heartwarming photos of him playing with the children at the Phelisanong Children’s Centre in Pitseng, Leribe. The Duke of Sussex spoke at an AIDS conference in Amsterdam and then went on to south Africa.

In Africa, he opened a community hall on behalf of Sentebale, the organization in which he co-founded. The newlywed royal was photographed playing with balloons, participating in games, and cuddling and dancing with the youngsters.

Kensington Palace described his trip as a private visit without his new wife, Meghan. The Duke was also joined by his friend and Sentebale ambassador Adam Bidwell. The two have a strong personal connection.

Harry has spent plenty of time in Lesotho and founded the charity in 2006 in honor of his late mother, Princess Diana, who helped disadvantaged children in the same area.

Earlier in the week, Harry joined pop star Elton John to launch a campaign to raise HIV awareness among men. He  warned that dangerous complacency about the virus threatens the quest to wipe the disease out.

 

The billion-dollar project called MenStar targets men living with or at risk of HIV in Africa. The coalition is bravely tackling the root cause of the problem and hopes to target the young men who lack awareness of HIV prevention.

Around 36.7 million people worldwide have HIV and fewer than half of the men living with HIV receive proper treatment compared with 60 percent of the women that have it. Prince Harry said the campaign launch came at a time with new energetic and innovative solutions which are needed more than ever.
