A grandmother just got a huge surprise at her granddaughter’s graduation that she never saw coming!

Video is going viral showing California teenager Cassie reveal to her grandmother Dottie that she wore the same dress that her grandma wore to prom to her graduation! Dottie had given Cassie the dress when she was a little girl so that she could play dress up with it, and the teenager has cherished it ever since.

“Our niece was given this dress when she was a little girl for ‘dress up’ but they decided to keep it nice in the closet,” Cassie’s aunt wrote in the video description on YouTube.

“She decided to wear it for her high school graduation night,” her aunt continued. “It was her grandma Dottie’s prom dress from 57 years earlier and Grandma had no idea that she still had it, and was going to wear it for grad night. Needless to say there were lots of tears from everyone!”

“When it came time for graduation, Cassie decided she already had her dress picked out and we were told about it, but it was kept a secret from Grandma Dottie,” Cassie’s aunt later added. “While visiting for the graduation ceremony, Dottie kept asking to see her dress and she was told it wasn’t at the house but at one of Cassie’s friends houses.”

Dottie was overwhelmed with emotion when she saw her granddaughter in her dress!

The video has since gone viral, with people all over the globe being touched by it.

“Even now, her grandmother is still one beautiful lady,” one internet user wrote. “I can just imagine how beautiful she must have looked when she wore that dress to her prom. What a truly wonderful and memorable gift to give to her grandmother. Next up, grand-mother’s wedding dress. Bet that’s just as beautiful and timeless as her prom dress.”

“The granddaughter looks as beautiful as I’m sure the grandmother did when she wore it,” another added. “What a lovely thing to do. Wish there was a picture of the grandmother wearing the dress.”
