Jodi St. Clair is a proud military mother who shows how much she loves her sons by putting stickers on her car. Jodi’s 22 year-old son Jacob is currently serving in South Korea, and her 20 year-old son Daniel is stationed in North Carolina. One of the stickers on Jodi’s car reads, “My sons defend our freedom,” while the other says, “Proud parent of a soldier.”

Jodi walked out of the hair salon that she works at one day to find what she thought was a business flyer and a $20 bill. However, it turned out not to be a flyer at all…

After seeing the stickers on Jodi’s car, a stranger had written a note to her.

“Dear ‘Proud Parent’: Please either send this $20 to your Army Soldier for a meal,” the note read. “If he/she is in the Middle East, either use it to buy a care or comfort kit or save it for his/her return. I pray for our military around the world every night, especially those serving in dangerous areas or in one of our wars. Godspeed, Shelley.”

Jodi is now on a mission to find Shelley so that she can thank her personally. Social media users everywhere have been touched by Shelley’s gesture.

“Thank you Shelley. You brought tears of happiness to many, many eyes, including mine,” one user wrote, with another adding, “Amen. Great act of kindness. Thanks to all the men and women in the military. God bless US.”

Others, however, do not think Shelley should be found.

“The donor of the money and note should not be sought,” one internet user wrote. “She wasn’t looking for any acknowledgement; she wanted to commit a random act of kindness, which by definition is an anonymous act.”

Jodi’s husband just spoke out to give an update about the search for Shelley.

“What the newscast does not show is that the note has Shelley’s FULL name on it and is written on USO letterhead,” he said. “The reason I know that is Jodi is my wife and the two boys, Jacob and Daniel, are my sons. We were able to find Ms. Woods and took her out to lunch last Friday.”

It’s so nice to see a military family being given the respect that they deserve! SHARE this story so your friends and family can see this as well!
