Who doesn’t just love a good love story? I know I certainly do, and the story of Norwood Thomas and Joyce Morris is a classic tail of long lost love that was finally able to be reunited. But it took them 70 years to find each other again.

The duo was young and in love when World War II intervened. Norwood was a member of the 101st Airborne division and was deployed to fight in the D-Day invasion at Normandy. But even after leaving Joyce’s side, he never forgot her.

When he returned to the U.S. he sent her a letter asking her to join him in the U.S., but it was a misunderstanding that led them to part ways and start lives with other people. Eventually Norwood became a widower and Joyce divorced.

It was one of Joyce’s sons who found Norwood online and used Skype to organize a meeting so the two could talk and see each other after more than 70 years apart. A Crowdfunding campaign was set up that raised enough money to allow the pair to reunite face to face.

Norwood made the trip all the way from Virginia in the U.S. to Adelaide, Australia, so he could reunite with his long lost love. Check out their amazing story and reunion in the video below and be sure to share it with your friends and family.
