German Shepherds are so intelligent that they are often trained as K-9 Officers, Border Patrol Officers, U.S. Customs Dogs, and Military Dogs. German Shepherds are some of the most popular dogs around, so it should come as no surprise that this story about two of them is going viral!

Gus and Laurie have spent their whole lives together. Though where they were before they were rescued at the age of three months is a mystery, it’s clear that the two had already developed a tight bond by then. A farmer found them after they had taken up residence in his barn, and he called in the Shenandoah Shepherd Rescue in Stephens City, Virginia to come get them. Gus and Laurie are now seven months old, and their story has taken the internet by storm.

“They’ve only ever known each other,” the rescue group wrote on Facebook. “They were found as strays at three months old and have since lived in someone’s barn. They’re around 7 months old now and we are so hopeful that we can find someone to keep these two together. If you’re looking for a bonded pair, look no further.”

People all over the world have been taken in by the photos of Gus and Laurie. The strong bond these two animals share is immediately apparent when looking at the images! This close bond is why the rescue group is trying to find a forever home where they can both be adopted together.
