Thee young men are being hailed as heroes after saving a blind man after he had fallen onto the subway tracks last week. Witnesses say they were standing at the Broadview subway station in Toronto when they witnessed one of the scariest things they have ever seen.

A man with a walking cane had walked up to wait for the train, but took a step too far. He fell onto the tracks and was calling out for help. That’s when three young men jumped to his rescue and hoisted the man to safety.

One of the men, 24-year-old Kyle Busquine, says he didn’t hesitate to jump to the man’s rescue. He says he doesn’t feel heroic at all and says it was just the human thing to do. He says he wouldn’t have been able to live with himself if he hadn’t at least tried to help the man.

Witnesses say while the men were lifting the blind man to safety they just hoped and prayed that a train wouldn’t come. They say knowing that something horrible could happen and it was totally out of everyone’s control was the most frightening thing they’ve ever experienced.

Busquine says that he wouldn’t have been able to rescue the man alone and is grateful that the other men came along to help. Paramedics escorted the injured man to the hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
