Reunions can be very heartwarming to witness, but they can also be incredibly emotional. The video below this story shows that it’s not only humans who like catching up with old friends, animals like it as well!
Meet Limbani, a chimpanzee who unfortunately had pneumonia as an infant, causing his mother to reject him. Workers at the Zoological Wildlife Foundation were able to rescue Limbani and nurse him back to health.
Tania and her husband Jorge worked with the foundation to nurse Limbani by giving him round-the-clock care for the first few months of his life. Without the love and medicine they provided him, Limbani would not be alive today.
In the video below, Limbani is reunited with Tania and Jorge after he has been separated from them for months. Many would assume that an animal would not remember their human caretakers for this lengthy period of time, but this video proves that they would be wrong!
As soon as he sees Tania and Jorge, Limbani gets so excited that he spits out his drink! It’s clear from the video that Limbani loves these humans very much and appreciates all they have done for him in life.
“The pure excitement and joy when Limbani sees our close friends can only be appreciated if watched and heard,” the foundation said in a statement. “Tania and Jorge can go without seeing him for a couple months and his reaction is always the same.”
In the end, this serves as proof that the bonds human and animals make with each other can be incredibly powerful! Check out the emotional reunion in the video below, and SHARE this story so your friends and family can see this as well!
