Travis Sattler was working his normal shift at a fast food restaurant when his day suddenly took a very unexpected turn.

Travis was working the front register when a little boy approached him with an unusual request that he just could not refuse. As Travis listened to the boy, he forgot that surveillance cameras were recording their every move, and the video footage of what happened next has gone viral.

“He wanted to order dessert,” Travis recounted of the encounter. “He was a little nervous. Ended up handing me everything he had.”

The boy was just $2 short, and Travis didn’t have the heart to turn him down, so he reached into his own pocket and treated the boy to his frozen custard.

Travis was touched by the gratitude and joy of the child, and he figured that this would be the end to their story. The cashier had no idea at the time that a big surprise was waiting for him! As the boy left the restaurant with his mother, he slipped a note to Travis that completely stunned him.

Travis ended up getting a huge surprise when his small act of kindness paid off for himself in a huge way! This video serves as a reminder that doing something kind for someone else can pay off in a variety of ways. Sometimes, the payoff is simply the feeling of knowing that you made someone else’s day.
