It’s always heartwarming to watch baby animals play together. It’s impossible not to start smiling when seeing how happy and carefree they are!

If you are looking for something to cheer you up today, this video of a baby elephant playing with a flock of birds is sure to do the trick!

This video was shot in 2015 at Kruger National Park in South Africa by a visitor who just had to whip out their phone and record when they saw how cute this was! The footage shows a newborn elephant making friends with the birds and chasing them across a road.

The elephant has a huge smile on his face as he plays with his new friends, and he even wags his tail like a little puppy!

“I didn’t realize he was chasing the birds. That’s so cute,” one of the women watching the elephant said.

As the elephant chases his bird friends around, his mother quietly watches him from the bushes, supervising her baby from afar. She clearly wants to make sure her baby stays out of trouble, but it doesn’t seem like he has much to worry about, as all he wants to do is play!

Eventually, the birds have had their fun and fly away. The elephant then happily trots back over to his mother, and they head back into the trees with their herd.
