If you feel a tingly, numb, or painful feeling in your leg, butt, and lower back, your may have a problem with your large sciatic nerve in the back of your leg.

Sometimes, people who suffer from sciatica are in such great pain that they can’t go about their daily activities. This pain is caused by a herniated disc, pinched nerve, degenerative disc disease, or a narrowing of your spinal canal. Though this pain is hard to deal with, we have just found a new and easy way that you can find relief if you are suffering from sciatica!

Though there are many yoga poses that can provide some relief, the best thing you can use to treat sciatica is actually a tennis ball! You can use this ball to dig deep to massage your muscles and relieve muscle tension and rigidity.

When your muscles feel more relaxed, blood will flow more freely to the affected area.

First, you should lay down on top of the tennis ball and roll over towards the position of your sciatic nerve, which goes up the back of your leg. Then, simply roll the ball up and down the affected area, using a moderate amount of force. Compress each area for 15 to 20 seconds before moving on to the next one.

Depending on how much pain you are in, you may want to use more than one tennis ball.

Once you have done this, you can hold the ball in your hand and roll it over the front of your body, from the neck to your hip. If this hurts, adjust the balls or stop the motion, as you can further damage your muscles or nerves if you’re not doing it right.
