It’s been over 20 years since Princess Diana passed away, and though she is missed by millions all over the world, nobody misses her more than her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. It has just been revealed that since her death, Harry has been paying tribute to his mother with a bracelet that he has worn off for years.
After Diana died in 1997, Prince Charles took William and Harry on a trip to Africa in the hopes of getting their minds off of their grief.
“I first came [to Africa] in 1997, straight after my mum died. My dad told my brother and me to pack our bags — we were going to Africa to get away from it all,” Harry recalled.

Harry either bought or was given the bracelet during this trip, and he has kept it since then as a tribute to Diana. Harry has also recently been opening up about his mother’s death and his desire to further her legacy.
“I want to do something really constructive with my life,” he said. “I want to do something that makes my mother proud. My mother stood for something. There’s a lot of unfinished business and a lot of work that my mother never completed.”
Harry has also kept Diana with him in other ways. When he proposed to Meghan Markle, one of the diamonds in the Duchess’ three-stone ring was reportedly taken from Diana’s jewelry collection. Harry said he wanted to do this “to make sure she’s with us on this crazy journey together.”
