A video is going viral showing the son of Willie Nelson cover one of his father’s biggest hits in a truly remarkable way.

Filmed at a late night jam session, the video shows Lukas Nelson grab the microphone and perform an amazing rendition of his father’s song, “Always On My Mind.” It quickly becomes clear that Willie passed down his vocal talents to his son, and that this apple did not fall far from the tree!

Most people do not know that just like his father, Lukas is very into the music world! He is in a band called “Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real,” and they travel the country performing their rock music. Their official Facebook page has over 150,000 fans, and it’s easy to see why their fan base is growing!

The video below shows Lukas performing “Always On My Mind” solo, without the backup of his band. As Lukas performs with his soulful voice, it becomes clear that he has no issue being onstage alone without his bandmates!

Though the song was released 35 years ago, Lukas’ rendition puts a modern twist to it that is very pleasing to the ear. We’re sure Willie got a big kick out of seeing his son perform one of his best songs!
