Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attended the Queen’s Young Leaders Awards earlier this week. The annual celebration recognizes leaders across the Commonwealth between the ages of 18 and 29. The winners of the awards receive mentoring, training, and networking, including a week-long residential program in the UK.

The awards are a star-studded event and this year, the Duke and Duchess were present to congratulate 61 young finalists for the awards. Meghan Markle was a hit in a blush-pink Prada dress and seemed to do everything just right.

She watched with pride as Prince Harry made his speech. During the speech, he announced that he and his new bride were looking forward to meeting the young people around the Commonwealth and working with them on their projects.

But there was one thing that some people noticed about Markle that might not have been proper etiquette in the Queen’s eyes. Markle is still learning the ropes of royal etiquette, and at the awards ceremony she crossed her legs at the knees in an informal pose that is not considered fitting for royal women.

She quickly corrected herself to the “Duchess Slant”, but not before social media and the Queen picked up on the faux pas. While some people were quick to correct Markle’s mistake, others were quick to jump to her defense on social media.

One social media user noted that they believe the Queen is more concerned with Meghan’s passion and commitment to the Commonwealth than how she crosses her legs. The rest of the evening seemed to go smoothly with Meghan patiently stepping back and letting the Queen walk ahead.
