Meghan Markle may still be learning all the ropes and etiquette of being a member of the royal family, but it seems that she has perfected the art of sitting just like her late mother-in-law Princess Diana. Princess Diana liked to sit with her knees and ankles tightly together with her legs slanted to one side and apparently so does her new daughter-in-law.
The pose makes the legs appear longer and is a more modest position, perfect for a royal lady. Although not a rule, it is generally frowned upon by members of the royal family to sit with their legs crossed at the knees.
Instead, the women are expected to cross their legs at the ankle. The seated position that Markle has been seen in several times, has been dubbed the “Duchess Slant” by Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, who also often prefers this position at public engagements.

Markle had a chance to show off her new royal manners last Tuesday evening when she joined Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Harry at the Queen’s Young Leaders Awards Ceremony in Buckingham Palace. You can see in the video below that Markle has nearly perfected her royal duties.
The royals posed with the winners of the awards for a group photo and Markle is seen sitting in one of the seats beside her husband and the 92-year-old Queen. Markle also sat poised in the crowd in support of her husband who gave a speech that night.

It was clear by the resemblances Markle had to the Queen that she was keeping a close eye on the Monarch to be sure that she was doing her duties as expected. Several photos show Markle in perfect sync with her Majesty.
Be sure to check out the video below of the evening’s awards ceremony and be sure to share it with your friends and family.
