Late night television host James Corden has become well known for his “Carpool Karaoke” segments. This past week, Corden had one of his best “Carpool Karaoke” videos ever when legendary Beatle Paul McCartney stopped by to have some fun with him!

The video begins with Corden driving around Liverpool trying to find a carpool companion to accompany him on his drive. He ends up finding McCartney, who is arguably the most famous Liverpudlian alive today.

Corden begins by talking on the phone, and it quickly becomes clear that he is quoting lyrics from a Beatles song.

“I need somebody, not just anybody. Can you please, please help me,” Corden can be heard saying.

When McCartney gets in the car, the two start by singing the classic Beatles hit “Drive My Car.” As the video goes on, McCartney explains how his career began, revealing that he wrote his first song at the age of just 14! Corden could not help but tell McCartney what a huge fan he is of him.

“Your music is so full of positivity and joy and a message of love and togetherness, I feel like it’s more relevant now today maybe than it’s ever been,” Corden told McCartney.

“We expected it to last 10 years, but it keeps going on, and on, and on. And it keeps being relevant,” McCartney replied.

Later in the video, McCartney brought Corden to his childhood home. There, he recounted how he and John Lennon wrote many of their iconic Beatles songs in his father’s house.

Corden began to cry when the two began singing “Let It Be,” as the song means a lot to his family. The video ends with McCartney and some starstruck Beatles fans all singing along and crying to “Hey Jude.”
