When couples learn that they are expecting a baby, they typically want to have some maternity photos taken of the wife so that they can document the beauty of her pregnancy. The maternity photos of the couple in this story, however, have gone viral for a very unusual reason that have nothing to do with the woman’s pregnancy!

Dan and Angela could not wait for her to give birth to their baby, so they headed to the beach to take some maternity photos so that they could remember how amazing her pregnancy was. As Dan snapped one of the photos of Angela, something happened in the background that has everyone talking.

As Dan took a photo of the expectant mother, a dolphin leaped out of the water right behind her!

“Someone started yelling to us that there were dolphins, and we could see their dorsal fins,” Dan said.

The couple had actually planned to take maternity photos the week before, but fate intervened when it started raining, forcing them to push it back to the day when they could capture this leaping dolphin on camera!

“When I took it, I was like, oh my God! Unfortunately, [my wife] totally missed it,” Dan said.

The dolphin also jumped out of the water for a second time as well.

“The dolphin actually jumped twice, but I liked the first jump picture best,” Dan continued. “How quickly I forget how magical a dolphin jumping out of the water is! Now I’m picking my favorite jump!”

Since the photos have gone viral, the couple have been bombarded with suggestions to give their baby a dolphin-themed name.

“And, no,” Dan added. “We’re not changing his name, as some have suggested, to Dolph Finn.”

The couple’s baby boy was born in February, and they named him Courtland Thomas Mozer. We wish them the best of luck with their newborn!
