In the Hai Phong street market in Vietnam, an unusual salesman makes his rounds. He can be seen dressed in everything from a police uniform to bright hats and bow-ties, but no matter what he’s wearing, he catches the attention of everyone he meets.

His name is Dog, but he’s not a dog at all. He’s a Scottish Fold cat that was given the unique name by his owner Le Quoc Phong. Dog got his name because Phong says he acts more like a dog than a cat. He breaths with his mouth open like a dog and just acts like one.

Three-year-old Dog can be spotted in the market nearly every day, and makes his rounds in his ever changing attire. Phong says he helps attract customers and competitors equally. The duo sells everything from fish and meat, to vegetables, and many other items.

Phong says Dog likes ice cream, sleeps a lot, and likes to travel. He also enjoys having his picture taken, which happens a lot when he’s out and about at the market. Pictures of Dog have graced headlines not just in Vietnam, but also in China and Thailand. He’s become quite a star!

Some people worry that Dog isn’t comfortable in all the clothing he’s been spotted wearing, but Phong says that’s simply not true. He says Dog is cozy in his costumes and they don’t limit his walking or regular activities.

Don’t worry, Dog does get days off from work too, and those days he spends lounging around, sleeping just like any regular house cat. His days off he rarely gets dressed up, and he gets treated to all sorts of treats, with his favorite being fish.
