When you think of a German Shepherd dog you might not picture the most gentle creature, but one German Shepherd is changing the minds of people that watch him tenderly care for the new addition to his family, a tiny black and white furball that also happens to be a kitten.

In the video you can see Tennyson keeping an eye on Moo, his new sibling. Also known as Tenny, the German Shepherd stands protectively over Moo while Moo appears to be struggling to get up the stairs. Tenny keeps watching the furry baby struggle and you can even hear their mom in the background tell Tenny to let the baby try to do it himself.

Initially Tenny listens to his mom and goes a few steps ahead of Moo. Struggling, the black and white furball jumps up a few steps to follow his big brother. Each step is bigger than Moo is tall. Tenny waits patiently, but you can tell in the video that he’s struggling not to help the new addition up the carpeted stairs.

Eventually Tenny has had enough watching. At first the gentle giant leans down and nudges the kitten giving him a boost up the stairs. That still must not be enough help in the eyes of Tenny, because he then reaches down and gently grabs Moo by the nape of the neck like a mother cat would do to carry her kittens. The German Shepherd gently lifts Moo up off the stairs and carries him to the top of the stairs.

Once the unlikely friends reach the top of the stairs, Tenny tenderly puts Moo back on the floor. He lays down beside Moo and appears to nuzzle the tiny kitten. Mission accomplished. What a great start to years of furry friendship!
