When a homeless camp in West Palm Beach, Florida, went up in flames last March, firefighters saw a helpless pup tied to a tree as they were dousing the flames. The pooch was badly burned and they immediately rushed him to a nearby emergency veterinarian clinic.

The two-year-old mix breed’s body was covered in horrible third-degree burns and was in bad shape. Thanks to Dr. Federico Latimer and the staff at Jupiter Emergency and Specialty Center, the dog began to heal under their expert care.

Over the course of his two month stay at the hospital, the dog grew to love the staff that was caring for him, but he became especially attached to Dr. Latimer.

Thankfully, the dog made a full recovery and one of the other veterinarians at the hospital adopted him. Dr. Katelyn Thomas adopted the pooch and named him Fenrir, or Fen for short. He has spent the last nine months living the good life with his new owner.

You can see how happy he is with the smile that fills his face from cheek to cheek. Fen has even served as the official mascot for the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League’s 2018 Annual Crown Walk for the Animals.

In the video clip below you will see Fen as he walks through the crowd, but one person in particular catches his attention. He sees his old friend Dr. Latimer, who nursed him back to health when he was in dire need, and the pup can’t help but run over and shower him with hugs and kisses.

Check out Fen’s reaction in the video below and be sure to share his story with your family and friends.
