An 86-year-old man went to see his doctor and his doctor asked him how he was feeling. The man replied, “I’m great! Never felt better! I have a 20-year-old bride who is pregnant with my child. What do you think about that doc?”

The doctor thought quietly for a moment then replied to the man by telling him a story.

He explained that he has an older friend who is an avid hunter and has never missed a season. One day when getting ready to go hunting, he was in a bit of a hurry and he accidentally picked up his walking cane instead of his gun.

As he got close to the lake, he came across a large male beaver that was sitting at the water’s edge. Realizing he had left his gun at home, he was devastated that he wouldn’t be able to shoot the beautiful creature.

Out of habit, the man raised his cane and aimed it at the animal as if he was using his rifle. He pointed the cane at the creature and yelled, “Bang, bang!” Miraculously, two shots rang out and the beaver fell over dead.

“What do you think about that?” the doctor asked his elderly patient.

The elderly patient replied, “Logic would strongly suggest that somebody else pumped a few rounds into that beaver.”

The doctor looked at his patient somberly and replied, “My point exactly.”

So next time something seems too good to be true, think about the man who shot a beaver with his cane. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. If you agree, share this story with your family and friends.
