Some people say that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but 81-year-old Frank Nardone will tell you that simply isn’t true. This grandfather decided that he wanted to learn how to play the ukulele and spent plenty of time practicing and learning a few songs.
One song that he loves to play is “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” from the classic movie “The Wizard of Oz.” After learning his new skill, Frank really wanted someone to sing with him, and thankfully, he found a volunteer in his granddaughter.
Brooke Falls, had stopped in to see her grandparents at their retirement home in central Florida. Brooke and her mom, Donna Dugan, live in Philadelphia, so they don’t have many opportunities to get to see Frank and his wife Marie.

Luckily, the granddaughter and grandfather still have an outstanding bond and that makes their duet even more amazing. Brooke had recently turned 18 and in the video below, the duo give a shout out to their age before joining in song.
Brooke holds a sign up that says 18, then hands the sign to her grandfather who flips it over to say 81. Shortly after, they begin their special rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and you don’t want to miss it.

With the way their amazing melody’s blend together you would think they’d been performing together for years. While they haven’t been playing together for years, Brooke has actually been singing professionally for six years and plans to make a career of her talents.
Check out the video below and you’ll understand why this young lady is already off to a good start. Being accompanied by her jolly grandfather only makes the performance that much better! If it lights up your day like it did ours, be sure to share it with your friends.
