Animals are known to sometimes end up in unlikely friendships that transcend the boundaries of species. You would never expect a miniature pony and a Corgi to become inseparable, but that’s exactly what happened in a new viral video!

When Callie Schenker was out walking on her farm one night, she came upon a scene she was never expecting. She couldn’t believe here eyes when she saw her neighbor’s dog riding the back of her miniature pony, Cricket! She managed to take a quick video of what was happening before the dog jumped off and ran home.
“I was astounded. I had no idea that, on the one hand, the dog could ride. And two, that Cricket was letting him do it,” she said.
From the way the dog managed to stay on top of the pony, it was clear he had done this before.
“People said I must have put the corgi up there. Tied him on there,” Callie said. “People were like, ‘That’s a corgi, he can’t just get up on that pony.’ I’m like, ‘He just did.’”

Callie thinks the friendship between the two creatures is both adorable and hilarious.
“The corgi is like a captain,” she said.
After catching the dog riding the pony a few times, Callie got curious about how he was actually getting up there. She was sitting at home one day when she again saw the dog riding the pony, but by the time she got outside, he had hopped off.

Undeterred, Callie stayed outside to see if the dog would get back on, and sure enough, he did! She looked on stunned as the dog jumped up and down, getting higher each time until he made it onto the horse’s back.
“I kinda had a hunch that’s how he did it,” Callie said. “But it was cool to really see. And to see Cricket actually play around with him was cool.”

Callie is just glad to see that her pony has made such a good friend! When she first got the pony, he was extremely malnourished, and she knew she had to adopt him.
“I just fell in love with him,” Schenker said. “I told my husband, I have to have this pony.”
