According to Fox News, Kevin Costner’s wife, Christine Baumgartner, has filed for divorce after 18 years of marriage. The couple married in 2004 and have three children together.

A representative for Costner has confirmed the news and has asked for privacy for the family during this difficult time.

“It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action. We ask that his, Christine’s and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time,” the representative stated.

Details surrounding the divorce are limited, and it is expected to remain that way until the situation is resolved. However, last year, RadarOnline.com reported that Baumgartner was unhappy with the amount of time Costner was spending on his hit western series, “Yellowstone.”

The show has been on an extended mid-season break, and it is unclear when it will return or if Costner will continue playing his character, John Dutton.

There has been speculation that Costner’s time as John Dutton will end soon, and a report in April claimed that the series would end with season five. With the news of his divorce, it seems that Costner is going through a tumultuous time.

It remains to be seen how the situation will develop, but hopefully, everyone involved can navigate through this difficult time.
