Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton have been known to not be the closest of sisters-in-laws in the past. That’s why it’s come as such a surprise that sources are saying that they are considering teaming up for a Netflix project.
“Meghan and Kate are actually getting along really well and have been in touch more often,” a source told US Weekly. “Meghan has been talking to her about collaborating on a project for Netflix, a documentary that will spotlight Kate’s charity work and the huge impact she’s made with her philanthropy.”
Kate is reportedly considering Meghan’s offer.
“Kate is very flattered, and it’s all very positive between them,” the insider added.
Meghan and Harry signed a deal with Netflix last year to create content for the streaming service under the title of Archewell Productions.
“Our lives, both independent of each other, and as a couple have allowed us to understand the power of the human spirit: of courage, resilience and the need for connection,” the pair said in a statement. “Through our work with diverse communities and their environments, to shining a light on people and causes around the world, our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope.”
The source went on to say that Meghan and Kate are “closer than ever and working on their relationship for the sake of the family.”
This comes months after Meghan brought up Kate in her explosive tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. In this primetime special, Meghan claimed that Kate had made her cry in the lead-up to her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry, despite the media reporting that it was the other way around.
“The narrative with Kate, it didn’t happen,” Meghan alleged. “A few days before the wedding she was upset about flower girl dresses and it made me cry. It really hurt my feelings.”
“It was a really hard week of the wedding,” she continued in the March interview. “And she was upset about something, but she owned it, and she apologized. And she brought me flowers and a note, apologizing.”
Immediately after the interview, a source claimed that Meghan and Kate had not spoken in a year.
“There is real animosity that the brothers have toward one another, and that has spilled over to Meghan and Kate’s relationship, making it very hard for them to be friends or even friendly,” this source said.
However, last month, another insider said that the two women had since made amends.
“It’s wasted energy,” this source said. “They’ve called a truce.”
