Vanessa Bryant, the widow of the late NBA legend Kobe Bryant, has reportedly settled a lawsuit that was filed against her by her own mother Sofia Laine.

US Weekly has confirmed that while the conditions of the settlement haven’t been publicized, the case is now over.

Court documents from back in December show that Sofia alleged that she worked as an unpaid “longtime personal assistant and nanny” for her daughter’s family and that the late Kobe “promised to take care of” her “for the rest of her life.”

“Kobe Bryant’s promises did not see the light of day as he is now deceased, and Vanessa Bryant took each and every step she could to void and cancel all of Kobe Bryant’s promises made to [Laine],” the papers continued. “Vanessa Bryant did not intend to honor any of the Bryants’ representations, agreements and promises at any stage.”

Vanessa fired back at the time by claiming that the late NBA star “never promised [her] mother anything” and denied that her mother was ever a personal assistant or nanny for her family.

“[She’s] continuing to try and find ways to extort a financial windfall from our family,” she added. “She was a grandmother who was supported by me and her son-in-law at my request. … She now wants to back-charge me $96 per hour for supposedly working 12 hours a day for 18 years for watching her grandchildren.”

“In reality, she only occasionally babysat my older girls when they were toddlers,” Vanessa continued. “As of 10 years ago, our kids were full-time students and athletes and I didn’t have another child until 2016. Her claims are obviously false but I still tried, repeatedly, to work things out with my mother.”

Kobe and his 13 year-old daughter Gianna were killed in a helicopter crash last year along with seven other people. Vanessa opened up about her love for her husband and daughter on what would have been Kobe’s 42nd birthday in August of last year.

“I think about your tenderness and patience all the time. I think about everything you would do in situations to help me deal with everything thrown my way,” she said at the time. “I wish I could wake up from this horrible nightmare. I wish I could surprise our girls and welcome you and Gigi home to us. … I’m mad I didn’t go first. I always wanted to go first so that I selfishly didn’t have to feel this heartache. You were supposed to miss me. Gigi was supposed to be here with her sisters. It should’ve been me.”
