Thomas Markle, the estranged father of Meghan Markle, revealed this week that he is planning to take his daughter to court in California to petition to see his two young grandchildren.

Thomas reportedly told a photographer outside of his home in Mexico that he is ready to take this matter to court in the hopes of meeting his grandchildren Archie Harrison and Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.

“We shouldn’t be punishing [Lili] for Meghan and Harry’s bad behavior,” Thomas said in a video obtained by Fox News. “Archie and Lili are small children. They’re not politics. They’re not pawns. They’re not part of the game. And they’re also royal and entitled to the same rights as any other royal.”

“… I will be petitioning the California courts for the rights to see my grandchildren in the very near future,” he added.

Thomas also took this opportunity to slam his son-in-law Prince Harry for announcing that he is writing a memoir that is due to be released next year.

“Harry doesn’t have too much more to tell,” said the patriarch. “After three sessions with the psychiatrists and Oprah Winfrey, I don’t know what more is there to tell.”

Thomas went on to say that he would welcome Queen Elizabeth, Harry’s grandmother, to his home in Mexico anytime she wants to visit.

“Of course, they would be invited to my home at any time,” he said of the British royal family.

Meghan and Thomas have been estranged since he was caught staging paparazzi photos weeks before her wedding to Harry back in May of 2018. Earlier this week, an insider said that Thomas is “getting up there in age” and still wants to turn his relationship with Meghan around if he ever gets the chance to.

“He’s frustrated,” the source said. “He’s lived his life raising his kids. He moved to Mexico to live his life in peace and not to be completely blackballed and outcast. It doesn’t feel good [for him].”

The source went on to say that Meghan was closer to her dad than she was to any other family members during her youth.

“He was an awesome dad to Meghan. For him to get heat and be portrayed as this money-grabbing bum is not fair. He’s not even like that,” the source said. “He did pay for her college. That is 100% true.”
