Three years after Prince Harry married Meghan Markle, new details are emerging about the drama surrounding their wedding, and insiders are saying that Queen Elizabeth was forced to put her grandson “firmly in his place” over his “rude language.”

Insiders say that drama occurred over Meghan wanting to wear an emerald tiara to the wedding, but the Queen wanted her to wear a diamond one. Royal biographer Omid Scobie, a friend of Meghan’s, blamed the Queen’s dressmaker and close friend Angela Kelly for making things difficult when it came to arranging practice fittings.

“The drama took place afterwards when Meghan wanted to try that tiara on with her hairstylist, because there is a lot of tech that goes into this,” Scobie said, according to The Express. “They had to do an experiment with that before the wedding day. The hairstylist came in from overseas, there was an appointment at Buckingham Palace, but nobody was there.”

“Each time Angela Kelly was not available to arrange this, to facilitate this, despite agreeing to,” he added. “It got to the point where staff around Harry and Meghan were tearing their hair out because the wedding was a couple of weeks away, months had passed at this point. Harry had to intervene. He called his grandmother and said, ‘I don’t know what the hell is going on, but this woman needs to make this work for my future wife.'”

“Harry felt that there were those within the institution that would stop at nothing to at the very least to make Meghan’s life difficult,” Scobie continued. “Meghan didn’t get to try the tiara on again until a few days before the wedding.”

Kelly was reportedly heartbroken by claims that she had been difficult, but she did not want to say anything that would “upset the Royal Family.” The Queen, however, was livid when she learned about what Harry had done, and she did not hesitate to let her feelings be known.

“Angela essentially said, ‘I’m very sorry, that’s not how it works.’ There’s protocol in place over these jewels,” one royal source said. “They’re kept under very tight lock and key. You can’t turn up and demand to have the tiara just because your hairdresser happens to be in town.”

This insider claimed that Harry used “rude language” in his response, which led to the Queen scheduling a private meeting with him.

“He was put firmly in his place,” the source said. “He had been downright rude.”

Harry and Meghan have since stepped down as senior royals and bashed the royal family in various interviews. Through it all, the Queen has continued to take the high road, just as she always does.
