The Hollywood star Priyanka Chopra, a close friend of Meghan Markle’s, appeared to snub Kate Middleton and Prince William at Wimbledon last weekend.

Page Six reported that Priyanka noticeably did not clap as William and Kate entered the Royal Box ahead of the women’s singles final on Saturday. Instead, Priyanka was seen adjusting her scarf and avoiding eye contact with Kate and William as they walked in and took their seats while the rest of the crowd applauded.

Later in the day, Priyanka appeared to look away from Kate and William once again when she crossed paths with the royals on the Center Court balcony.

Royal watchers think the snub may not be a coincidence, given the fact that Priyanka’s friend Meghan has had a falling out with the royal family. In her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this year, Meghan claimed that Kate made her cry and “hurt her feelings” in the lead-up to her wedding to Prince Harry during a discussion about flower girl dresses.

Social media users were quick to comment on the way Priyanka treated Kate and William.

“The way Priyanka did not even look in their direction is enough for me,” one social media user tweeted, according to Daily Mail.

“I’m actually in disbelief about such a lack of manners and upbringing. The Americans sitting in the vicinity to Kate and William did NOT clap nor acknowledge their entry. Two past tennis stars with their wives, King and Navratilova, and a bestie of Meghan’s, Priyanka Chopra,” a second social media user added, with a third writing, “She totally ignored them. I would do the same if my friend was mistreated.”

This comes after Kate’s uncle Gary Goldsmith told Australia’s 60 Minutes that the entire family is “massively disappointed” with Meghan and Harry’s decision to throw the royal family “under the bus” in their tell-all interview with Oprah.

When asked about the claim that Kate made Meghan cry, Goldsmith said, “I don’t believe a word of it.”

“There were a lot of things in that interview I didn’t believe,” he continued. “Kate would always be the peacemaker in those situations. I think we saw at the funeral (for Prince Philip) that Kate is always trying to make peace.”

Goldsmith went on to add that Kate is “even lovelier on the inside than on the outside” and that if anyone had a hissy fit that day, it was certainly Meghan.
