Royal experts are saying that Thomas Markle, the estranged father of Meghan Markle, has “shot himself in the foot again” with the latest interview that he did about her, and that he now has no chance of ever getting her forgiveness.

The U.K.’s Express reported that when she was asked if there was a chance Thomas and Meghan could still reconcile, Royally Us host Molly Mulshine said, “I don’t think so, he went to the press again.”

“It’s like Thomas, you have one job, your one job was to not go to the press, that was all he ever had to do and he just keeps doing it,” she explained. “He’s shot himself in the foot again by doing this.”

This came after Thomas described Meghan as “cold” in a new interview and revealed he was yet to meet his grandchildren, Archie Harrison and Lilibet Diana.

“He only has one job and that’s not to go to the press. Everything else is manageable from that point but if you keep doing these interviews, Megan will not answer your phone calls, nor will Harry,” said cohost Joe Drake. “They’ve never even met so there’s nothing there to even build off of.”

Thomas told “60 Minutes Australia” that he feels he and Charles are in the same position because of Meghan and Harry “ghosting” them both.

“I think we’d get along quite well, and it’s unfortunate what’s happened to him as well,” Thomas said of Charles. “He seems like a likable guy, and I actually appreciated the fact that he walked my daughter down the aisle. I certainly couldn’t have asked for a better replacement, although I would love to have done that.”

When asked if he sees similarities between Harry’s relationship with Charles and his own relationship with his daughter, Thomas replied, “Yes, I see them both ghosting their families completely.”

“Now they’re alone in a huge house they could probably accommodate 20 people in, and it’s just the four of them,” he continued. “But I don’t think they’re going to have relatives over for a barbecue tomorrow, or next week, or next month.”

Meghan has been estranged from her father since before her wedding to Harry in May of 2018.
