Last month, we reported that Bill and Melinda Gates shocked the world when they announced that they are divorcing after 27 years of marriage. Now, new reports are coming out stating that the divorce could take a messy turn, as Bill frequently used nondisclosure agreements (NDAs) to cover up various aspects of his life that may come to light during these proceedings.

Vanity Fair reported that Bill has long battled rumors that he is an unpleasant boss and exhibited inappropriate behavior in the work place. Sources say he used NDAs often to suppress these rumors over the years.

“For such a long time you were told, ‘You have an NDA. You can’t talk,'” said one former employee who claimed to have signed an NDA themself. This person said they were encouraged to speak up after seeing an uptick in interest in how Bill behaved in the workplace. However, the ex-staffer added that they are also aware that Bill has a team of “not nice” lawyers waiting in the wings to fight any of these claims for him.

In contrast, another source told Fox News that all Microsoft employees sign an NDA, as is commonplace in the tech industry. This source did not believe that Bill used NDA’s selectively to silence various people in his workplace.

Despite this, the former employee who talked to Vanity Fair claimed that Bill was impatient and demanding at work. The source also described Bill as “unrelenting” and “condescending.”

“He would ask you a question, and when you answered, he’d look at you and go, ‘That is NOT the right answer,” the former staffer said.

The ex-employee also believes that Bill used NDAs to cover up his extramarital affairs, which were allegedly an open secret in his circles. The insider recalled multiple times when Bill arrived at the office driving a Mercedes just an hour before leaving in a golden brown Porsche that was brought by a member of his security team.

“We all assumed that it was when he was with women,” the source stated. “I knew there were many offsite meetings that were not on his calendar.”

Another source close to Bill said that these affairs were not a secret, while a third said that the billionaire was “one of the most intensely scheduled people on the planet.”

Bill fired back through a spokesperson who said that “it is extremely disappointing that there have been so many untruths published about the cause, the circumstances and the timeline of Bill Gates’s divorce. The rumors and speculation are becoming increasingly absurd and it’s unfortunate that people who have little to no knowledge of the situation are being characterized as ‘sources.’”
