Last week, we reported that a judge had ruled that the Hollywood star Brad Pitt can have joint custody of the children he shares with his fellow A-lister Angelina Jolie, who he has been in an ongoing custody battle with for the past five years.
Now, a source has come forward to say that Jolie is “bitterly disappointed” with the ruling that came down from Judge John Ouderkirk.
“Angelina’s testimony lacked credibility,” the source told US Weekly. “The decision was based on extensive testimonies from people who spent time with the kids and by highly respected professionals.”
The insider went on to say that Jolie is incredibly angry with Pitt, and that she plans to keep fighting him in court.
“She will never forgive him,” the source explained, adding that she will use “everything she’s got” to appeal the arrangement. “She maintains it’s far from over and still believes that justice will prevail.”
Pitt and Jolie split in September of 2016 after two years of marriage and twelve years together as a couple. While their divorce was finalized in 2019, their custody battle has been on going over their six children: Maddox, 19, Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 15, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 12.
Last month, a judge issued a temporary ruling giving Pitt and Jolie shared custody of the children excluding Maddox, who is no longer a minor. While Pitt was “delighted” by the decision, he knows Jolie will appeal, “but he’s done letting her call the shots.”
“He wishes Angie no harm. His door is open if she wants to be civil,” the source added.
It was reported back in March that Maddox had testified against his father, and “wasn’t very flattering toward” him.
“He doesn’t use Pitt as his last name on documents that aren’t legal and instead uses Jolie,” a second insider said. “Maddox wants to legally change his last name to Jolie, which Angelina has said she doesn’t support.”
Despite everything that has happened, Pitt is intent on continuing to fight for his kids.
“Pitt has always been seeking the opportunity to have more time with his children and prioritized their well being while the other side did everything to try and stop that,” said another source familiar with the matter.
