A cousin of Queen Elizabeth just took a thinly veiled dig at Meghan Markle as she blasted young royals who “was their dirty linen” in public.

While appearing on ITV’s “Lorraine” this week,” Princess Olga Andreevna Romanoff was asked about the younger royals who have been openly discussing their grievances in the hopes of modernizing the royal family. This comes just two months after Meghan and her husband Prince Harry’s explosive tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey about the royal family aired.

“[The Queen’s] children have given extensive TV interviews, we have seen that,” host Lorraine Kelly said, according to The Sun.  “Do you think that is the way ahead to modernise the Royal Family or do you just think people should shh?”

“I was told to sit down and shut up and never wash your dirty linen in public, whatever it happens to be,” Romanoff bluntly replied. “So I think the Queen does it right.”

This was taken by many to be a reference to Meghan and her interview with Oprah in which she claimed to have been a victim of racism from within the royal family. Meghan claimed that things got so bad during her time as a royal that she even became suicidal at one point.

The royal family responded two days later in a brief statement released by Buckingham Palace.

“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan,” the royal family said in a statement obtained by Fox News. “The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”
