Peter Phillips, a grandson of Queen Elizabeth, has found himself in hot water this week after he was allegedly caught breaking COVID-19 travel protocols when he was seen at a woman’s home in St. Cyrus, Scotland. Royal insiders have previously described Phillips as the Queen’s “favorite grandson.”

The UK Sun reported that Phillips, who is the 43 year-old son of the Queen’s daughter Princess Anne, was caught after annoyed neighbors called the police to report him. He is currently supposed to be living at his mother’s home, the Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire, England, which is still under a “stay at home” order because of the pandemic. People can only go to Scotland for what the government describes as  “essential travel.”

“At around 6:40 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of a potential breach of coronavirus regulations at a property in St Cyrus,” said a spokesperson for Scotland police. “Officers attended, spoke to the occupants and found no breaches of legislation.”

“It seems wrong he has travelled here from England, whatever the circumstances,” said one local source. “Scotland is closed and if you flew here you would have to quarantine for ten days.”

Phillips defended himself in a statement released through a spokesman who claimed that the royal had travelled to Scotland on business with his company XL Medical, which provides rapid Covid tests.

“We do not comment on details or circumstances of Mr Phillips’ accommodation when traveling on business,” the spokesman added.

This comes at a difficult time for the royal family, as it’s been just three weeks since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s explosive tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. During their interview, Meghan claimed that she was hit with racism from within the royal family, claiming that an unnamed senior royal questioned how dark her then-unborn son Archie’s skin would be. Harry refused to name this family member, only saying that it was neither Queen Elizabeth nor Prince Philip. Meghan also claimed that she felt so isolated as a royal that she considered committing suicide at one point during her pregnancy.

The royal family responded two days later in a brief statement released by Buckingham Palace.

“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan,” the royal family said in a statement obtained by Fox News. “The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”
