Weeks after being released from prison at the end of December for her role in the college admissions scandal, former “Fuller House” star Lori Loughlin has gotten some good news from a judge, as her passport has been returned to her.

Fox News reported that Loughlin issued a request for her passport to be given back on February 10, and Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton has now responded with a handwritten note simply saying, “Motion allowed.” The United States Pretrial Services Office has been in possession of Loughlin’s passport ever since March 27, 2019.

In arguing that Loughlin should be given her passport back, her lawyers stated that on November 24, 2020, “the government filed a Satisfaction of Judgment confirming that Ms. Loughlin had paid her fine in full.”

“Accordingly, Ms Loughlin respectfully requests that the Court direct the United States Pretrial Services Office to return Ms. Loughlin’s United States passport to her undersigned counsel. The government assents to this request,” wrote her lawyers, Sean M. Berkowitz and William J. Trach.

Loughlin and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, pled guilty last year to charges related to them allegedly paying $500,000 in bribe money to have their two daughters admitted to the University of Southern California as members of the crew team, even though neither girl had ever rowed before. Loughlin served a two month prison sentence that ends in December, while Giannulli is still in prison serving a five month sentence that is not expected to end until April.

US Weekly reported that Loughlin completed the last part of her sentence, which was 100 hours of community service, earlier this month. Some of her community service was done at Project angel Food, where a source said she was “going above and beyond the hours that she is required to do.”

Brad Bessey, Project Angel Food’s Head of Communications, had nothing but praise for Loughlin.

“A court cannot order the level of excellence, hard work, and kindness Lori Loughlin brought to her community service at Project Angel Food preparing and delivering life-saving meals to critically ill people,” he told Entertainment Tonight.

Sources have said that Loughlin is eager to put this scandal behind her, and that she wants to resume her acting career.

“[Lori] would love to start working again one day, but she is scared people won’t work with her,” another source said, adding that Loughlin has already “had her team put out feelers.”
