Candace Cameron Bure of “Fuller House” fame is known for being one of the most openly Christian actresses in Hollywood, but that doesn’t mean that she’s someone who can just be walked all over. She has shown that many times over the past few months, defending both herself and her family from hateful comments made by internet users.

In a new interview this month, Bure defended her coworkers with the Hallmark Channel, a network that she has made many films with. While appearing on Paula Faris’ eponymous new podcast, Bure sent a brutal message to Hallmark detractors, letting them know that making movies for the channel is no joke.

“I get that all the time. ‘How hard is it to be in a Hallmark movie?’ Like, ‘Can I be in a Hallmark movie?'” said Bure, 44. “And I’m like, ‘Are you a professional actor?’ ‘No.’ ‘Then no, you cannot.'”

Fox News reported that Bure is a true Hallmark veteran who has appeared in 26 movies for the network, nine of which were Christmas-themed. Hallmark fans also know her as Aurora Teagarden, a crime-solving librarian who she frequently portrays.

Bure recently opened up to Extra about clapping back at her haters, saying that she has absolutely no regrets about doing so.

“Listen, on social media, everyone gets criticized, and if you are a celebrity, I mean, it just comes with the territory, and I can handle it,” said Bure. “But the second someone starts to criticize my children, or say negative things like that, mama bear comes out.”

“I just had to remind people that there are real people with real feelings behind the screen and I’m not posting for your negativity,” she added. “In that instance, I was simply sharing a family photo that was so beautiful to me. Even a hint of people criticizing my family picture I wasn’t going to take.”

In this instance, Bure was referring to negative comments she got on a photo of herself with her husband and their three children.

“You know, people forget that — yes, I’m a celebrity — but I’m a real person,” Bure explained to E!’s Daily Pop. “I was simply sharing a family Christmas card. And it’s so strange to me that people have the audacity to write horrible and negative comments. Like, you would never say that to someone’s face.”
