The singers Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani announced back in October that they had become engaged after five years of dating. On Monday, their fellow singer Miley Cyrus got into a brief discussion with Stefani on social media that culminated with her asking if she could be her wedding singer.
The exchange started when Stefani commented on a video Cyrus posted of her singing her new hit “Prisoner” on NPR.
“talented geeezzzz gx,” Stefani tweeted, to which Cyrus quickly responded, “When my hero’s tweet me I get horny.”

“omg your crazy!! Flushed face blushing …gx,” Stefani wrote back to her.
That’s when Cyrus asked if she could be the wedding singer for Stefani and Shelton on their big day.
“ALSO @gwenstefani @blakeshelton I’ll be your wedding singer!” Cyrus wrote. “I promise to be on my best behavior. Or worst. whatever you want! It’s your special day! Cheers to loving you both almost as much as you love each other!”

Stefani neither confirmed nor denied if she would be taking Cyrus up on this offer, simply writing in response, “thanks puppy.”
Though the couple got engaged last fall, Stefani has admitted that their wedding planning is on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic. When asked back in December if she wants a smaller or larger wedding in a “post-pandemic world,” Stefani said that she just wants her father Dennis and mother Patti to be in attendance no matter what.
“I would say I just want my parents there at this point. My parents wouldn’t come to Thanksgiving because they’re so scared so really would rather it not be a COVID situation. Like, I would rather not have masks and that kind of thing,”she added. “Even when you cut it down to just family, it’s too many people for COVID so we’re sort of going to see what happens in the next few months.”
Last month, Stefani confessed that she now wishes Shelton had proposed sooner so that they could have squeezed in a wedding pre-COVID.
“We have no plans because of the pandemic,” she said. “It’s like, ‘Blake, why couldn’t you have done it before? Now we can’t have a wedding with the pandemic.’ [I’m] sitting around going, ‘OK. Drag it out more.'”
