A mullet war is officially on between country music stars Blake Shelton and Morgan Wallen, with the former describing the latter’s signature hairstyle as “pretty weak.”

“His mullet is kind of like a bob haircut,” Shelton says. “I wanna see it get down to about the middle of his back, like me and you know, Tracy Lawrence.”

“Toby Keith even had some kind of a weird mullet back then,” he added. “I wanna see some length on that thing.”

While Shelton does not have a mullet now, he was known for sporting one in the early 2000s. Last year, he had said he was going to grow it back, but he did not get very far with that.

“For me, you can’t be fat and have a mullet,” Shelton explained to the Bobby Bones Show earlier this month.

Shelton’s words about Wallen may seem harsh, but they are actually all in good fun. The two of them have known each other since Wallen competed on “The Voice” in 2014, a show that Shelton is a coach and judge on.

This comes after Shelton said that he wants to lose twenty pounds before he marries his fiancée, singer Gwen Stefani.

“Scale of 1 to 10, Blake Shelton, [will you] you lose 20 pounds for your wedding?” country music star Luke Bryan asked him on the podcast Party Barn Radio With Luke Bryan.

“I feel like if I say 10 I have to do it, so 10,” Shelton replied. “It’s out there now so I can’t let people down.”

Shelton went on to admit that he does not feel great about the weight he has gained in quarantine.

“I’ve readjusted all the mirrors in the house so they look like when you’re taking a selfie from up above because I can’t even stand to look at myself in the mirror,” he said. “So I’ve rearranged them where they’re kind of angled down looking down at me and it’s not so bad.”

Despite not being confidant about his new look, Shelton is sure that Stefani, 51, will end up walking down the aisle with him.

“I’m going with a 10, buddy. I’ve got confidence,” he said when asked if Stefani will go through with the wedding.
