It’s been over 31 years since the iconic “I Love Lucy” star Lucille Ball passed away in 1989, but according to some, her spirit may not totally be gone. In fact, there are reports that Ball’s “playful” ghost still haunts both her old home in Beverly Hills and a building on the Paramount Studios campus.

Ball died during surgery in 1989, and at the time, she was living in a mansion on Roxbury Drive that was later gutted. After Ball’s death, one of her friends went to her home and claimed to see her ghost there.

“Walls were missing, and he could see Lucille’s old bedroom. He then noticed a tall, slim redhead peering through the fence at what was left,” Seek Ghosts reported. “She turned toward him, and he realized it was Lucy. She looked upset and confused. She then walked around the south corner of the house and disappeared.”

New owners of the home have since reported hearing strange noises in the mansion’s attic. If her ghost is really there, she seems to be staying true to Ball’s personality.

“Lucille‘s ghost is said to be playful but seldom intrusive,” according to Seek Ghosts. “It appears she hangs around because she loves her old neighborhood. Her ghost is sometimes impulsive. One recent owner of the Roxbury home stated that her spirit spends a lot of time rearranging furniture and boxes that are stored in the attic.”

One person even said that it sounded like Ball was hosting a party in the attic. We can only imagine who the guests were!

This comes after Ball’s daughter Lucie Arnaz spoke out to defend Nicole Kidman being cast to play her mother in the upcoming biopic Being the Ricardos, which was written and will be directed by Aaron Sorkin. While there has been some backlash over Kidman being cast in the role, Ball explained that the movie is not “a remake of I Love Lucy.”

“Nobody has to impersonate Lucy Ricardo nor do the Vitameatavegamin routine, or … any of the silly things. It’s the story of Lucille Ball, my actual mother, not Lucy Ricardo, and her husband, Desi Arnaz, my dad, not Ricky Ricardo,” Lucie explained to fans in a video posted to Facebook.

“There will be humor in the film, but it is a story of the two of them and how they met and what went right with finding the show, what went wrong, their relationship, their love affair,” she added. “Now, of course it’s going to have ‘I Love Lucy’ in it. As a matter of fact, Aaron Sorkin has set it on the stage of filming one week of rehearsal, rehearsing and filming the show. But all this other stuff takes place during that time.”
