With all of the darkness going on in the world today, it’s easy to forget that there are still good people out there doing kind things for one another. That’s why it’s so great that a story is going viral this week that is sure to restore your faith in humanity!
Isaiah Mcintrye, 21, was just having a normal day running some errands when he walked out of a store and saw an elderly woman struggling on the ice. Without hesitating, Isaiah rushed over to offer his help, and the woman graciously accepted. The two of them had no idea at the time that they were on camera.
The powerful moment of kindness was caught on camera by Samantha Voisine, who decided to share it on Facebook so the world would see this good deed.
“I don’t know who he is but Thank You to the young gentleman at KG who drives a newer Subaru Impreza in Millinocket Maine who put his mask back on and got out of his car to help this elderly woman across the ice!” she captioned the image. “In a time like this, it gives everyone hope!”
The picture immediately went viral, and before long, the elderly woman was identified as 93-year-old Marjorie Moore. Both she and Isaiah were interview for NEWS CENTER Maine to tell their side of the story.
It turns out that Marjorie is known in her community for being a daredevil, and she even celebrated her 90th birthday by going skydiving. When she got to this store and saw how icy it was, however, Marjorie decided that she might be better off simply going home rather than risking her safety by attempting to cross it.
That’s when Isaiah showed up to save the day!
“He was just a young fellow…I thanked him and told him he was a very nice gentleman,” Marjorie said. “There are a lot of people who are very nice. Even over at the shopping center, they will see me and say you need help getting into the car or with your groceries.”
As for Isaiah, he’s shocked that the moment went viral, explaining that he’s used to helping people because “it’s just how I was raised.”
“It’s not every day that you see people react positively towards other people,” he said.
We could certainly use more young people like Isaiah in the world! Find out more about this incredible story in the video below.
