This past year has provided many opportunities for philanthropic work within communities and and for those wishing to show appreciation to first responders and medical personnel fighting on the frontlines of the COVID war. Many celebrities have stepped up in big ways, opening their pocketbooks to help meet the many needs our nation has faced and continues to face. Musician Post Malone is the latest celebrity to use his status in a significant and positive way.

His dabble in the fashion world took off with a storm after his collaboration with comfort-footwear company Crocs. His special line–his fifth with the footwear giant–shot off with incredible popularity and sold out in stores and online within a day of being released. The rapper and shoe shoe brand have teamed up with a nonprofit organization called Musicians On Call to facilitate the donation of his latest design, the Duet Max Clog II Croc, to deserving frontline workers who have been on their feet nonstop since the coronavirus pandemic began.

Musicians On Call has partnerships with several hospital and healthcare facilities around the country where music makers bring cheer to the hospitalized through live and recorded music. The organization was the facilitator of the generous donation which it announced on Wednesday. In speaking with PEOPLE, Musicians on Call President & CEO Pete Griffin said:

“The stress of the pandemic on staff in all areas of the hospital has been unrelenting and we have been doing what we can to continue bringing them the joy of live music. We are so grateful to Post Malone and Crocs for joining us in providing even more relief when they need it the most through this generous donation. Thanks to them, caregivers at 70 hospitals nationwide will have the added support of their Crocs to help them through their day.”

These hero-medical and emergency personnel are continuing to put in long hours as the U.S. rolls out it’s most intense vaccine campaign in our nation’s history, and also in the history of the world. According to data collected by BLOOMBERG, over 37.9 million COVID-19 vaccines have been administered worldwide, with 13 million of those shots received by Americans since distribution began on December 14.

The native Texan made another massive Crocs donation just a month ago, giving 2,000 pairs of his latest design to students at his hometown high school in Grapevine, TX. The wildly popular limited edition design comes in black and pink, features an adjustable strap and over-exaggerated outsole, and also comes with Post Malone-branded rivets and lanyard clips. The shoe has fetched upwards of $300 on some resale sites.
