Margarite is a 65 year-old woman from Wisconsin who had to retire early from her career as an occupational therapist last year due to COVID-19. After months in quarantine, Margarite started to feel “blah,” like many of us have, so she decided to do something special to change things up.

“If I’m going to do something why don’t I do something that’s right for me?” she said. “I was feeling kind of blah blah blah and maybe just accepting being retired and a new life but a more simpler, boring life.”

That’s why she decided to travel all the way to the Minneapolis, Minnesota salon of Christopher Hopkins, who is better known as “The Makeover Guy.” Christopher specializes giving women over the age of 45 a new lease on life with life changing makeovers, so Margarite knew she would be in good hands when she went to his salon.

”The whole mission is to uplift behavior through beauty,” Christopher said in the trailer video for his YouTube channel. “How you present yourself: how you speak, how you walk, how you talk, how you present yourself to the world.”

Before her makeover, Margarite explained that her husband had been too afraid to travel with her to the salon because he was afraid of catching coronavirus. However, he did make sure to record her before she left the house so that she would have a before and after shot of her brand new look.

“I’m kind of disappointed that he wouldn’t be sharing in my excitement,” she confessed.

However, this was not going to stop her from getting her makeover, and she was eager to get started.

”I’m going to leave myself in your hands,” Margarite said. “I trust you and just go for it.”

Once Christopher was done with her, Margarite was nearly unrecognizable, and social media users commented that she looked ten to twenty years younger than her age! By the time she walked out of the salon, Margarite no longer felt “blah,” as she instead felt ready to take life by the horns.

“Now I feel revitalized and alive and when COVID is over I am going to be able to go out and feel good about myself,” she said.
