Maria is a woman from Atlanta, Georgia who decided that she wanted to change up her look a bit by getting a makeover that she hoped would give her a new lease on life. That’s why she ended up in the Minneapolis, Minnesota salon of Christopher Hopkins, who is better known on social media as “The Makeover Guy.”

Christopher has been working in the beauty industry since 1990, and he specializes on giving makeovers to women over the age of 45 that leave them looking decades younger than they are. When Maria arrived at Christopher’s salon, she explained to him that she had always struggled with what length to cut her hair. She added that she had cut it above her ears two years before, and she was currently growing it out.

As Christopher looked at Maria’s hair, she explained to him that she came upon his work when she was browsing YouTube for videos for women over 40. When asked if her friends knew that she had flown to Minneapolis to see “The Makeover Guy,” Maria said, “Yes, and they all thought I was crazy.”

Christopher then talked to Maria about her hair habits, asking if she flat irons her hair. She responded by saying that she did not and only blow dries it, but she also said that most people ask if she does flat iron it because of how straight it is.

”The longer my hair gets the heavier it gets so this what happens- it gets flat,” Maria explained.

After studying Maria’s look for awhile, Christopher told her that he would like to draw attention to her eyes because she has smaller eyes and nice cheekbones. This means that she needs just the right haircut and color that would draw attention to these features.

When Christopher told Maria that he thought she needed to change her hair color, she laughed because her hair had been the same shade for years.

”I always go to get my hair cut and tell my husband I got my hair done and he says you look the same,” she said.

Despite this, Maria was ready for a change, so she put herself fully in Christopher’s hands. He ended up giving her a shorter and darker haircut that also had bangs, which Maria said she had not had in eighteen years. In the end, she loved her new look, and she could not wait to show it off to her husband!
