On Friday, John Travolta celebrated his first Christmas since the passing of his wife Kelly Preston, who died of breast cancer back in July at the age of 57.

While this must have been incredibly difficult, Travolta tried to stay positive by posting an adorable video of his daughter Ella Bleu, 20, and son Benjamin, 10, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. In the video, the family can be seen in their living room wearing pajamas next to a decorated Christmas tree.

“Say merry Christmas, Ella,” Travolta, 66, can be heard saying as his daughter waves. He then pans the camera over to his son, who is enjoying a Christmas treat.

“Merry Christmas from the Travolta family!🎄” he captioned the video.

This comes a month after Travolta thanked his fans on Thanksgiving for the support they’ve given him and his family since Preston’s death.

“I want to take this moment to thank each and every one of you for supporting me in such an incredible way this year,” he said, appearing to be emotional as he spoke. “Happy Thanksgiving and always love.”‘

Fans were stunned when Travolta announced Preston’s death back in July, as she had not even revealed publicly that she was sick. Instead, she kept her two-year battle with breast cancer private.

“It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer,” he wrote on Instagram at the time. “She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many.  My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side.”

“Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered,” he added. “I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while.  But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal. All my love, JT.”
