Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have released their first Christmas card since stepping down as senior members of the British royal family.

The adorable Christmas card shows Harry and Meghan posing with their 1 year-old son Archie as well as with their two dogs. Entertainment Tonight reported that the card was released through Mayhew, which is Meghan’s animal welfare organization patronage in the United Kingdom.

“This year we, as a family, have made donations to several charities with you in mind,” the couple said in a note accompanying their card. “From a local California organisation that helps families transition out of homelessness, to two of our U.K. patronages: one that supports animal and community welfare, and the other, a memorial fund for a cherished friend that helps to educate children and fight poverty in Uganda, we have honoured their work on behalf of all of us.”

“The original photo of the family was taken at their home earlier this month by The Duchess’ mother,” said a spokesperson for Harry and Meghan. “The small Christmas tree, including the homemade ornaments and other decorations, were selected by Archie, and the tree will be replanted after the holidays.”

This comes one year after Harry and Meghan released their first Christmas card with Archie.

Harry and Meghan “will be spending Christmas at home in California quietly with Archie and [Meghan’s mom] Doria joining them,” a source recently said.

“Meghan, who is an accomplished cook, will be preparing some of their favorite dishes with Harry and Doria pitching in,” the source continued.

The source went on to say that Harry and Meghan have “no imminent plans to return to the U.K. given the travel restrictions related to the pandemic.”

Earlier this month, Meghan and Harry were spotted out and about in California buying a Christmas tree at an unnamed tree barn. They went so unnoticed that one child even mistook Harry for someone who worked at the shop!

“Meghan and Prince Harry came into my work today and we sold them their Christmas tree,” tweeted @imaJaaaaaames. “We had our lot empty when they got there – their agent promoted them a good time to come instead of us shutting it down. There was one family in there and their stoked little son ran through trees up to Harry and asked if he worked here not knowing who that is.”
